New Jersey: Illegal Aliens on Hunger Strike to Win Taxpayer-Funded Benefits

· April 20, 2021 ·

Illegal aliens in New Jersey have gone on a hunger strike to lobby state lawmakers to pass a taxpayer-funded program that would provide them with potentially billions in unemployment and stimulus benefits. This month, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) and state Democrats struck a budget deal that includes $2.1 billion of taxpayer money for nearly 300,000 illegal aliens. Those eligible will get a one-time payment of $15,600 , the equivalent of about $300 a week for a year. The aid to illegal aliens in New York is $1.1 billion more than tax credits and grants authorized for small businesses in the state. Now, illegal aliens in New Jersey — backed by groups like Make the Road, the New Jersey Immigrant Alliance for Justice, and the New Jersey Policy Perspective — are on a hunger strike to lobby Gov. Phil Murphy (D) for a New York-style benefits program. The illegal aliens are asking for $2,000 direct cash payments and $600 weekly benefits. Watch: Florida Sheriff Warns New Arrivals Not to ‘Vote the Stupid Way You Did up North’

· April 20, 2021 ·

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd warned intending Florida residents Monday not to “vote the stupid way you did up north” as he stood beside Governor Ron DeSantis during a press conference. “This is what we enjoy in Florida. This is the Florida we know and love,” Judd outlined while showing local residents enjoying Walt Disney World and the beach before moving on to explain why political leadership is important to guarantee the basic rights to be enjoyed by all citizens. Without citing the Democratic Party directly, Judd warned those moving to Florida they needed to vote differently than they may have in the states they were intent on fleeing. “We’re a special place, and there are millions and millions of people who like to come here. And quite frankly, we like to have them here. So we only want to share one thing as you move in hundreds a day: Welcome to Florida. But don’t register to vote and vote the stupid way you did up north, you’ll get what they got,” the sheriff added, … [Read more...] about Watch: Florida Sheriff Warns New Arrivals Not to ‘Vote the Stupid Way You Did up North’

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin says those clubs planning a new Super League are ‘taking football hostage’

· April 19, 2021 ·

(CNN) UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin says the "shameless" plans for a new European Super League (ESL) are akin to taking "football hostage." Speaking to CNN Sport contributor Darren Lewis, Ceferin did not hold back on the proposals which threaten to rock the foundations of the sport but was confident the new league would not be a success. "Because we [UEFA] respect the fans, the traditions, football, the football community, our society, we will win. In the end, we will win," Ceferin says. "If 12 people want to meet to take football hostage, just to fill their pockets that are already so full that it's hard to put anything in, they can't win. Long term, they can't win." In a joint announcement Sunday, six English clubs -- Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur -- alongside three teams from Italy -- AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus -- and three from Spain -- Atlético Madrid, Barcelona and … [Read more...] about UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin says those clubs planning a new Super League are ‘taking football hostage’

De Leede stars in Netherlands’s high-scoring thriller

· April 20, 2021 ·

NEPAL T20I TRI-SERIES 2021 by Bertus de Jong • Last updated on Share Tweet The win sees the Netherlands join their hosts on two wins from three. © Getty Bas de Leede's career-best 81* off 41 saw the Netherlands chase down a daunting target of 207 to hand hosts Nepal their first defeat in the Tri-Nations series and draw level at the top of the table. The chase was the Netherlands' highest-ever in T20 Internationals, breaking a record set in their famous win over Ireland in the 2014 World T20. The Dutch had again looked rusty in the field after Nepal had elected to set a score first on an uncharacteristically batting-friendly Kathmandu pitch. Kushal Bhurtel again top-scored for the hosts with a 46-ball 62, albeit this time without the company of his in-form fellow-opener Aasif Sheikh, who was caught off Kingma for a duck in the second over. He would lose his skipper Gyanendra Malla after another successful powerplay had … [Read more...] about De Leede stars in Netherlands’s high-scoring thriller

PBKS stand in way of SRH’s elusive first win

· April 20, 2021 ·

PBKS VS SRH PREVIEW by Narbavi R • Published on Share Tweet SRH already pressed the panic button in the last game and ended up making four changes. The ploy, however, didn't work. © BCCI/IPL The Overview Squashing pre-tournament predictions, Sunrisers Hyderabad have made a rocky start to their campaign losing all three games in Chennai so far. Some familiar issues have crept into their game again especially in the batting department and constant changes to that playing XI hasn't helped either. They certainly find themselves in unfamiliar territory lying at the bottom of the table, being the only winless side in the competition until now. The pre-match narrative will once again revolve around Kane Williamson's fitness and his potential inclusion in the playing XI. But against a side that's been erratic so far in the tournament, SRH can fancy their chances of opening their account considering the familiarity in terms of the … [Read more...] about PBKS stand in way of SRH’s elusive first win
