Legendary pacer Waqar Younis and his wife Faryal Waqar took to Twitter to wish each other on their 21st anniversary. It started with an emotional and touching note from Faryal on the couple's relationship over the years. She shared two pictures of herself and Waqar with a caption detailing their journey together. "We spend so much time apart as we always seem to come second to your passion for work. I am still hanging around because you make me proud of what you do and who you are,"  Faryal wrote. Indian tennis star Sania Mirza extended greetings to former Pakistan paceman Waqar Younis on Twitter on his 21st wedding anniversary on Wednesday. LONDON: Pakistan's bowling coach Waqar Younis is set for a family reunion following a six-month hiatus after the country's cricket board (PCB) granted him leave on Tuesday to fly to see them in Lahore after the first test against New Zealand. Younis, whose family is usually based in Sydney, has been travelling with Pakistan since they toured England in June. The 49-year-old attempted a reunion in Sydney in September but his father passed away while Younis was in quarantine so he had to fly back to Pakistan for the funeral. Younis asked the team management for leave to spend time with his family who are in Lahore until Jan. 17. "Considering Waqar has not seen his family since June and taking into account that our home series against South Africa, which follows the series against New Zealand, doesn't finish until Feb 14, we took a pragmatic view of his request," Pakistan manager Mansoor Rana said. LAHORE: Pakistan appointed former captain Younis Khan as batting coach for their tour of England later this year, while also adding former spinner Mushtaq Ahmed to complete an impressive line-up of support staff on Tuesday. Former captain Younis is the only Pakistan batsman in test cricket's 10,000-run club, while Mushtaq, who joined as the new spin bowling coach, played 62 tests before going on to work with teams including England and West Indies. Misbah-ul-Haq is Pakistan's head coach while another former captain, Waqar Younis, is their fast bowling coach. "The Pakistan side includes some immensely talented cricketers who have the potential to achieve greater heights," Younis, who retired in 2017, said in a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) statement.
