Huge beat: Apple sold 74.5 million iPhones in December quarter, setting new record

· January 27, 2015 ·

Steve Jobs may not have liked the idea of bigger iPhones, but Apple customers clearly do. Apple sold 74.5 million iPhones in the December quarter, the first full three-month period that the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices were on sale, setting a new record for iPhone sales in the holiday quarter. By comparison, Apple sold 51 million iPhones in the same quarter a year earlier after releasing the iPhone 5S. To put that into perspective, Apple's $18 billion profit for the quarter was greater than the gross revenue that Google reported in the third fiscal quarter. It's also nearly as much as the $22 billion in net income that Microsoft … [Read more...] about Huge beat: Apple sold 74.5 million iPhones in December quarter, setting new record

Watch the South Park Human CentiPad Episode Online

· April 28, 2011 ·

Apple and the iPad got a good roasting last night on the South Park season opener, the episode is called HumancentiPad and it’s full of crass humor. The episode rips on Apple, the iPhone tracking controversy , the iPad , Apple Geniuses, Apple Stores, the iTunes EULA, Steve Jobs presentation style, Best Buy, iPad competitors, and more. It’s outrageous, it’s gross, but it’s also funny. If you missed it, you can watch the full episode online at SouthParkStudios website (no conceivable way to embed the video, sorry). If you’re easily offended or at work, you probably won’t want to watch, you’ve been warned. To make matters even more funny, apparently the competing Motorola Xoom and several T-Mobile smartphones are regularly advertising during the episode both online and offline. I wonder how that will work out for them. … [Read more...] about Watch the South Park Human CentiPad Episode Online

Set Podcasts to Auto Delete Old Episodes After Listening to Save Space in iOS

· March 13, 2013 ·

Listening to the myriad of wonderful podcasts out there is a great thing, but having all those podcasts take up tons of space on an iPhone or iPod touch isn’t so great. Each episode of an audio podcast can easily run between 30MB to 90MB depending on the length of the show, so it’s not uncommon for a sizable podcast library to slowly accumulate into GB’s of storage taken up, particularly if you’re not going through and manually trashing the ones you don’t need anymore as part of a routine to free up storage capacity on your iOS devices. Adjust Podcasts to Automatically Delete Episodes After Being Played This is dependent on having the Podcasts app installed in iOS, if you’re using an older version of iOS that doesn’t support the newer podcasts app then you won’t find these options available. Launch Settings and tap on “Podcasts” Under “Subscription Defaults” tap on “Episodes to Keep” Switch from “All Episodes to “All Unplayed Episodes” Close out of Settings … [Read more...] about Set Podcasts to Auto Delete Old Episodes After Listening to Save Space in iOS
