Even though the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been postponed, Multan Sultans pacer Shahnawaz Dahani's has emerged as a favourite player after playing four games in the country's premier T20 tournament. Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, one of the many admirers that the pacer got during the PSL, expressed his love for the cricketer on social media today. The wicketkeeper-batsman shared a video on his Twitter of the Multan Sultans' player receiving a warm welcome in his home town Larkana, expressing his happiness over his meteoric rise. The 22-year-old was also overwhelmed by the rousing welcome that he got. Before the PSL got postponed Dahani was the third-highest wicket-taker of the tournament. Senate adopts resolution honoring Princess Tarhata

ON Monday, March 1, 2021, the Senate adopted a resolution honoring and expressing its sorrow over the death of Princess Tarhata Alonto-Lucman, who passed away in Marawi City last February 24 at the age of 94. She was a remarkable woman, who defied convention and fought for gender equality when most Filipino women, let alone Muslim women, struggled to have their voices heard. Princess Tarhata was born to a political family in Ditsaan Ramain, Lanao (now Lanao del Sur) on June 26, 1926. She was a daughter of the first Maranao senator under the Philippine Commonwealth in 1935, she was a sister of congressmen, she was the wife of Rep. Sultan Rashid Lucman, she was the mother of vice governors, and she was an aunt to other political figures in the family. But Princess Tarhata was more than a relative of politicians. Lanao Norte schools receive digital S&T Library

FOUR schools in Lanao del Norte received Starbooks units and pods on January 21 from the Department of Science and Technology – Lanao del Norte office. Sultan Naga Dimaporo Memorial Integrated School-High School (SNDMIS-HS), Andres Bersales Sr. National High School (ABS NHS), Sultan Naga Dimaporo Memorial Integrated School-Elementary School(SNDMIS-ES), and Miguela Pogoy Memorial Elementary School compose the four academic institutions that recently acquired the digitized library. The Local Government Unit of Sultan Naga Dimaporo, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Motalib Dimaporo, partnered with DoST-Lanao del Norte to realize the installation of Starbooks corners within each of the schools. Council of Federal Datuks: Arrests of suspects involved in fake Datukships a positive step

KUALA LUMPUR: The recent arrests of several suspects involved in the use and awarding of fake “Datuk” titles is a positive step in curbing the growing abuse, says the Council of Federal Datuks of Malaysia (MDPM). “MDPM applauds the police in enforcing the Offences Relating to Awards Act (Act 787) which is long overdue, ” said Council president Datuk Awalan Abdul Aziz. He said at a press conference on Monday (March 8) that the enforcement by the police serves as a strong deterrent and an open warning to the many individuals and numerous other "Dato or Datuk" organisations. Awalan said the arrests would also send a clear message that the use of fake titles will no longer be tolerated, with offenders subject to stiff fines including jail terms. ‘Datuk Seri Robin Hood’ nabbed for extortion

JOHOR BARU: A 56-year-old "Datuk Seri" said to be active in charity work was arrested after extorting two men, including a police inspector, in Bandar Seri Alam here. Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the "Datuk Seri" was arrested along with another man on Thursday (Feb 25) after extorting a man in his 50s the previous Monday. “The suspect together with his 41-year-old accomplice had extorted and used force on the victim, asking the victim to pay his debt worth around RM450,000 on Monday. “The victim then lodged a police report where both suspects were then arrested on Thursday. While being arrested, the main suspect extorted a policeman saying that he would mess up all police stations and the policeman’s life, ” he told a press conference at state police headquarters here on Tuesday (March 2).
