It was a statement that his newscast was designed to, as he put it, “ hold up the mirror — to tell and show the public what has happened.” Holding up the mirror meant focusing on actual news, steering away from advocacy, and nailing down facts. There was a reason that polls of the era listed Cronkite as the most trusted man in America. He projected a fatherly personality and professional image. He spoke in a slow, deliberate manner. He imposed strict standards for accuracy and objectivity into his broadcasts. A couple of NFL Draft prospects made major waves during the 40-yard dash at the House of Athlete Scouting Combine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Former Georgia cornerback Eric Stokes ran a 4.2, while former LSU cornerback Kary Vincent posted a 4.38 on his first attempt and a 4.3 on his second attempt, according to results obtained by 247Sports. The inaugural House of Athlete Scouting Combine is hosted by former NFL star Brandon Marshall’s House of Athlete lifestyle brand and will take place from Wednesday, March 3 through Friday, March 5 in South Florida. A HUGE 40 per cent of Brits have now been vaccinated after the huge success of the vaccine rollout, Matt Hancock said tonight. The Health Secretary confirmed the fantastic news that two in five adults have now been given their first jab - a total of more than 21million. And one million Brits have got their second jab, and will be fully protected within three weeks. He told the nation tonight: "As of midnight last night. 21.3 million people had been vaccinated. "And I can tell you the first time that we have vaccinated now two fifths of the entire adult population of the United Kingdom." He said he was fantastic to see the "joy on people's faces" as they were given the vaccine, and hailed it as "the best way of securing our freedom because they are the best way of protecting us".
