...and the kitchen sink Facebook has Messenger and WhatsApp, but Instagram is one of its most overlooked messaging platforms. Michael Allison 26 Feb 2021 0 Source: Joe Maring / Android Central When it comes to messaging apps and services, there are a fair few stalwart apps you'd expect to see brought up in conversation. On August 6, 2014, the Rosetta space probe arrived at its destination after a nearly eleven-year journey of more than 600 million miles through our galaxy. When it arrived, it spent months carefully orbiting around comet 67P, aka Churyumov-Gerasimenko, in order to study it from afar. Rosetta first had to get a sense of the shapeliness of the mass, understand a bit of its terrain, and strategize where best to send its lander. Philae, the landing module that Rosetta had brought along, made its careful descent to the comet on November 12, 2014. Unfortunately, despite careful planning, the lander bounced … [Read more...] about Analysis Paralysis vs. Therapy on a Mission
Leaked Cables Shine Light on Iran Nuclear Threat
released thousands of classified State Department cables Sunday, drawing condemnation from the White House . Among the disclosures are that U.S. and South Korean officials have made game plans to deal with a possible collapse of the North Korean government; U.S. officials have candidly shared suspicions of Afghan government corruption; and China has conducted computer hacking attacks against the west. But some of the most gripping disclosures involve Iran, as CBS News correspondent David Martin reports from the Pentagon. When Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was elected president of Iran in 2005, the then commander of U.S. forces in the Middle East, Gen. John Abizaid, met with Arab military leaders. And according to one of the newly released diplomatic cables, "All agreed with Abizaid that Iran's new president … seemed unbalanced, crazy even." That cable - one of a quarter million obtained and released by WikiLeaks, details a meeting in the United Arab Emirates - the beginning of a … [Read more...] about Leaked Cables Shine Light on Iran Nuclear Threat
