Video Player Close JERUSALEM, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Women accounted for only 28 percent of managerial positions in Israel in 2020, according to an annual report published by the country's Central Bureau of Statistics on Sunday. In 2019, for comparison, Israeli women held 30.3 percent of managerial positions. The report, issued ahead of the International Women's Day to be marked on Monday, also showed that women hold 56.3 percent of all academic jobs in Israel, almost unchanged from 2019. In the hi-tech field, 125,000 women were employed in Israel in 2020, out of a total of 360,000 hi-tech employees, or 34.7 percent. In 2019, the rate of Israeli women employed in hi-tech was higher at 35.2 percent. If you had any doubts that Apple and Verizon were working together, this should quiet them. Verizon will begin offering the iPad in their stores starting on October 28. The iPad model offered will be the WiFi model, but each iPad will be bundled with a Verizon MiFi mobile hotspot to insure wireless data coverage. The Verizon iPad prices will be as follows: iPad 16GB with MiFi hotspot: $629.99 iPad 32GB with MiFi hotspot: $729.99 iPad 64GB with MiFi hotspot: $829.99 The MiFi hotspot plans will start at $20 a month for 1GB of data usage, there will be no contract required so you can effectively get the same month-to-month data use that you currently get with the iPad 3G data plans through AT&T. This looks like another sign that the Verizon iPhone release date is approaching quickly, and perhaps the next iPad will be CDMA compatible as well, eliminating the need for the MiFi hotspot. A new report from BGR claims that the launch date for the Verizon iPhone is set for February 3rd. Citing “a source close to Apple,” they point to blacked out retail dates for employees vacation requests “between February 3rd and February 6th — Thursday through Sunday.” This is significant because “Back in June of last year, Apple picked the dates of 24th to the 27th for its iPhone 4 weekend launch — also a Thursday through Sunday.” While this should be considered a rumor, BGR has been dead on with leaks and launch dates in the past. This all comes just days after an alleged iPhone 5 video appeared on YouTube before being taken down .
