BENEFIT payment dates are often affected by bank holidays throughout the year. The month of May brings not just one but two extra days off for many workers in the form of bank holidays. The first May bank holiday falls on Monday, May 3 this year, while the second falls on Monday, May 31. Both Mondays will therefore not be working days for plenty of workers so the processing of payments will unlikely take place as normal. This means some benefit claimants will get their cash on other dates than usual. Here's everything you need to know about how the extra days off will affect your benefit payments: When will my benefits be paid over the first May bank holiday? The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that tax credit payment dates will change over the early May bank holiday. Households who would expect to be paid tax credits on Monday, May 3, will instead be paid on the last working day before the bank holiday. How to contact the DWP for … [Read more...] about May Bank Holiday benefit payment dates explained including Universal Credit and state pension

5Cs? It’s 3 new Cs such as caring for environment that resonate with young S’poreans: Heng Swee Keat
SINGAPORE - The 5Cs of the Singaporean dream once went as follows: cash, car, credit card, condominium and country club membership. But these aspirations no longer resonate with younger Singaporeans today, noted Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat during a speech in which he suggested three new Cs to shape the country's future. These are creating more value for society, caring about the environment and wider community, and charting the way forward. "Aspirations evolve, and your generation have your own aspirations," Mr Heng told students at the Singapore University of Technology and Design's (SUTD's) Ministerial Forum on Friday (April 16). "You have grown up in a different phase of Singapore's growth and development, and you will have been exposed, much more, to global cultures and influences, and to social media." While the fundamental aspirations - a good career, strong relationships with family and friends and the opportunity to start families of their own - remain … [Read more...] about 5Cs? ‘F9’ Revs Up May 21 China Release; Further Overseas Markets To Start Engines Ahead Of Domestic
Refresh for latest …: Fuel-injecting some mega muscle into the international box office landscape, Universal ’s F9 is revving up for a May 21 release date in China, a full five weeks before domestic. But China won’t be the only overseas market to release early, as I hear several other key hubs are also going throughout the month of May including Korea (which is expected to kick things off on May 19), Russia, the Middle East, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam. The early offshore release dates reflect the recovery of — and confidence in — certain markets, notably in Asia, where it’s been demonstrated that audiences are eager to return to cinemas when there is major product available. And F9 certainly fits that event-level bill. In total, the Fast Saga has grossed nearly $6B globally across nine films and over $4B internationally. Amazon opens third store in the UK where you just walk out with your shopping
Amazon has opened its third checkout-free grocery store in the UK as the online retail giant continues its move into the high street. The new Amazon Fresh store is located in London’s White City and uses the same “just walk out” tech as its other two shops. Amazon opened its first store in Ealing in March this year, followed by its second opening in Wembley Park. All its stores in London have technology in place that lets customers pick up items and walk out of the store without using a till. Instead of interacting with staff, cameras monitor what items shoppers pick up and take out of the store. Their Amazon account is then charged when they leave. Shoppers have to scan a QR code to get into the stores, which links up to their Amazon account. You do not need to be signed up to Amazon Prime to shop in its Fresh stores, but you do need to have an Amazon account. Amazon confirmed last month that it would be opening a number of branches in London under its Fresh … [Read more...] about Amazon opens third store in the UK where you just walk out with your shopping
