New Delhi: The chairman of the Muthoot Finance company MG George Muthoot passed away on Friday evening after reportedly falling from the fourth floor of his house in Delhi. He was largely credited for making the Muthoot Finance a pan-India and the largest gold loan NBFC and he played a pivotal role in taking Muthoot Finance to new heights, expanding its reach across the country and even overseas especially to the Middle East. As per the police, they received the information about MG George Muthoot being admitted to a hospital after falling from the fourth floor of the house on Friday at 9.21 pm, he was later declared dead. About a week after the circuit breaker period began on April 7, residents of Sims Urban Oasis condominium saw a startling sight: Their swimming pools, which usually appear blue, had turned emerald green. The change in colour was due to algae forming at the base of the pools, which were on the ground floor of the estate in Sims Drive. A week after its management corporation was alerted, it received the nod from the National Environment Agency (NEA) on Sunday for the estate's pools to be cleaned. The following day, pool cleaners brushed and vacuumed the bottom of the pools to remove the algae. The condominium's residence manager Mark de Souza told The Straits Times on Wednesday that maintenance of the pools had stopped on April 6, in keeping with the circuit breaker measures. The Delhi High Court Friday said it expects that the AAP government will put things in order and comply with a judicial order asking authorities to take action and regulate online pathological labs, otherwise contempt action would be initiated. The high court, which was hearing a plea alleging non-compliance of its order in this regard, also sought to know from the AAP government whether its pathological laboratories and hospitals are NABL accredited. The plea alleged non-compliance of the high court's August 6, 2020 order to take action against illegal online health service aggregators operating in Delhi and to regulate online pathological labs.
