Telcos in the UK have cautiously embraced a cross-party committee's findings on the government's latest push for greater surveillance of Brits' online activity—however, dissenting voices remain. "The MPs and peers on the joint committee have given the spooks all they wanted, while recommending tweaks and polishes here and there to some of the more obvious hooks and sharp edges," said security expert professor Ross Anderson, immediately after the panel's report was published on Thursday morning.
