Jerry Nadler Blames Lawmakers who ‘Demonized China’ over COVID for Anti-Asian Attacks

· March 18, 2021 ·

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) Thursday partly blamed lawmakers who “demonized China” over the coronavirus pandemic for the rise in attacks on Asian-Americans. “It is important to recognize that this surge did not spontaneously arise only out of fears regarding the coronavirus pandemic. Some of this blame lies squarely on political leaders who have demonized China — both because of the virus and ongoing geopolitical tensions — and in turn Asian-Americans have fallen in harm’s way,” Nadler said during a hearing on “Discrimination and Violence against Asian-Americans.” “Words have power. What we say matters. How we treat each other matters,” the New York Democrat added. “The conversation we are having today is long overdue, and it is vital that Congress shine a light on this issue.” Nadler did not call out any lawmaker by name for taking aim at China. According to a report by the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, hate crimes targeting … [Read more...] about Jerry Nadler Blames Lawmakers who ‘Demonized China’ over COVID for Anti-Asian Attacks

Jerry Seinfeld Vs. “The Putz” Round 2: “A Real New Yorker” Had To Defend The City, Comedian Says

· October 1, 2020 ·

Jerry Seinfeld has no hard feelings for the “putz” Manhattan comedy club co-owner who declared a coronavirus -ravaged New York City “dead forever.” “I have nothing against that guy,” Seinfeld tells CBS’ 60 Minutes this week about Stand Up N.Y. comedy club co-owner James Altucher , who wrote the R.I.P New York article on LinkedIn two months ago. “He’s fine. I didn’t like that nobody was rebutting it, and I realized, ‘Oh, I guess that’s my job.’ Somebody – a real New Yorker – has to answer this.” In the August column headlined NYC Is Dead Forever: Here’s Why , Altucher wrote that his Upper West Side comedy club had been staging outdoor shows but saw a dwindling chance that the venue could reopen profitably in the wake of the city’s COVID-19 shutdown. “Broadway is closed until at least the Spring,” he wrote. “Lincoln Center is closed. All the museums are closed. Forget about the tens of thousands of jobs lost in these cultural centers. Forget even about the millions … [Read more...] about Jerry Seinfeld Vs. “The Putz” Round 2: “A Real New Yorker” Had To Defend The City, Comedian Says

Report: UCLA hires Jerry Neuheisel as wide receivers coach

· January 12, 2021 ·

UCLA is hiring former quarterback Jerry Neuheisel to be the team’s wide receivers coach, according to a report from college football insider Bruce Feldman . He received the promotion after spending time as a staffer and helping in recruiting. Neuheisel played for the Bruins from 2012-2015 but never really found a path to significant playing time. He played in a combined seven games through his four years with the program, going just 42-of-70 for 379 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing three interceptions. Coaching seems to be in Neuheisel’s blood as he is the son of former college and NFL coach Rick Neuheisel . Rick coached three different college teams in his time as a coach, including serving as UCLA’s head coach from 2008-2011. In his college coaching career, Rick posted a record of 87-59, including a record of 21-28 in his four years leading the Bruins. They went to just one bowl game in Rick’s time as the head coach, winning the EagleBank Bowl in 2009. … [Read more...] about Report: UCLA hires Jerry Neuheisel as wide receivers coach
