A 12-year-old boy who had been fighting for his life in hospital after he was struck by a stray bullet in an apparent gang-related shooting in North York last weekend has died, according to Toronto police. The boy was shot as he was walking across the street with his mother as they were returning home from a shopping trip at around 2:20 p.m. Saturday near 25 Stong Ct., a street running off Jane Street, a block north of Finch Avenue. According to police, two males jumped out of a car and started firing their guns at five occupants in a vehicle in a parking lot area busy with pedestrians, families and others. At least 30 rounds fired. There was no return gunfire. The boy had been in grave condition at the Hospital for Sick Children where he died of his injuries Wednesday, Toronto police said. VALLEJO (CBS13) – A 19-year-old man is in custody after a 12-year-old girl was rescued from being forced into human trafficking in Vallejo on Wednesday, authorities said. According to the Vallejo Police Department, the two were located by officers shortly after noon along Fairgrounds Drive. The child reportedly made a call for help. WICHIT: Three schoolchildren became burglars because their pocket money wasn’t enough, they told the Gazette on Monday. Twelve-year-old “Pring”, one of the accused sixth-graders, said, “Twenty baht isn’t enough. I asked mom for extra money, but she said no.” The trio were caught after allegedly burglarizing two houses in the same neighborhood, one of them twice. Pring, 11-year-old “Kob”, and 12-year-old “Deer” first allegedly broke into a house in Moo 1, Soi Baan Suan Muangthong Thani, Tambon Wichit, on July 6. The following day they broke into it again. In all they stole 33 items from the house. A couple of days later, Phuket Town police received a telephone call from the resident of a nearby house to say that it had also been broken into.
