RYANAIR has increased the cost of bringing carry-on luggage onto their flights on selected routes. The low-cost airline has raised the fee from £5 to £6 if the passenger chooses the option when making the booking and charges £7 if they pay when checking in online. The company first introduced the charge for carry-on cases in January. Until then, all passengers could bring a cabin-sized suitcase onto the flight free of charge. But at the beginning of this year, the new ruling meant that only priority-boarding customers would be allowed two bags. Everyone else will just be allowed to carry a smaller bag, while wheelie-style suitcases are placed in the hold at the boarding gate for free. A Ryanair spokesperson told Sun Online Travel: “Like all businesses, our optional fees can change unlike our fares which keep coming down. “There have been some recent changes as per our list of fees published on our website. “Priority boarding, which allows customers to bring two pieces of hand luggage on board with them and board the plane first, costs €5/€6 (depending on the route) at the time of booking and €6/€7 (depending on the route) when added to a booking.” The airline first… Read full this story
